Denise Ryan is a New Zealand
based visual artist
who completed her formal training BFA (Drawing) at Victoria College Prahran, Melbourne in 1991.
Working in graphite and watercolour, her studies are primarily concerned
with rendering texture and form in exacting detail.
A selected finalist in the
prestigious international Margaret Flockton Award for Scientific Botanical
Illustration in both 2005 and 2006, Denise was also a finalist in the
Botanical Art Society of Australia's 2007 Annual Members' Award Exhibition.
Her graphite study "Dried Protea" was selected by an international jury for
exhibition in Canberra Botanical 2007.
