Margaret Pople |
Margaret Pople was born in Sydney. She obtained a degree in Pharmacy at Sydney University in the 1950’s and worked in that profession until her retirement. In 1998 she moved to Port Macquarie. Margaret’s interests in Botanical Art were greatly enhanced, when in 2007 she attended her first Art Scene MSA Summer School at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst. Over the past 10 years she has attended this class, each January, guided by the talented and excellent tutor Barbara Duckworth. She finds the intricate work of graphite and watercolour fascinating, a most rewarding hobby and a wonderful way to relax. Her interest and ability in this wonderful Art form has increased over the ensuring years. Margaret belongs to Hastings Valley Fine Arts Association and has exhibited in local and regional shows, having sold many of her works. She is currently teamed with renowned Australian Botanical artist Gillian Scott teaching a Botanical Art Course in Port Macquarie. She joined BASA in 2001. |
