Introduction to coloured pencils with Florence Joly

Working with a basic selection of 20 pencils, participants will go through colour mixing techniques and various exercises to understand the medium and start a small project. 

As a participant, you will learn how to look closely at a subject, dissect its colour components and acquire the skill of creating a finished drawing with a limited palette. 

You will have the opportunity to experiment with a range of pencil brands and discover the difference between art and student quality pencils. 

The importance of choosing the right paper for the right project will also be explored. 

By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and confidence to purchase the necessary materials to complete a coloured pencil artwork. 

Students should be present before 9:30 to setup, class starts at 9:30.
