Judy uses coloured pencil and graphite to render larger-than-life images of the natural world, particularly botanical subjects. Judy will demonstrate a variety of techniques she uses, concentrating on layering of coloured pencil for bold botanical depictions.
Judy graduated initially in Science Education at Melbourne University, then continued her studies in Zoology and Neuroscience. After a long career in medical research studying the microscopic structure and function of nerve cells, Judy began life as a full time artist in 2009 in her home studio in the Adelaide Hills.
