  Curious about expanding your botanical art practice beyond traditional paper?

  In this demonstration, Anna introduces Ampersand Aquaboard as a versatile and exciting alternative painting surface for botanical art.

  You’ll gain insight into the unique qualities of Aquaboard and discover which techniques work best to achieve refined, luminous results. Anna will guide you step by step through surface preparation, demonstrate a range of watercolour approaches, and show how to effectively lift and rework paint—unlocking new creative possibilities.

  Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, this session will offer practical tips and fresh inspiration for your artistic practice.

  Members can register to attend the demonstration by clicking the Register button. Cost is $10. Registration closes May 22nd.

  A Zoom link to the meeting will be sent on the morning of the 23rd to those who have registered. If it hasn't arrived by 11am please check your spam folder.

  The demo will start at 2pm but the Zoom link will be open from 1:30pm to allow participants to connect. Information on using Zoom is available here.

  Flora: Nature’s Gift is a BASA exhibition, being held for the first time on the Gold Coast. BASA will hold the exhibition jointly with the Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS), at their gallery in Broadbeach QLD. The opening will be at 3pm on Sunday 5 July 2026.

  It is a special event, as it brings together three organisations with BASA - the Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS), the Friends of the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens (GCRBG) and Native Plants Queensland (NPQ). The support of these organisations will greatly enhance the profile of botanical art in the local community, as well as attracting the attention of interstate and overseas visitors.

  The 2026 Flora Information for Artists is now available and we have also compiled a general Exhibition Guidelines for Artists.

  Entries will close on 22 May 2026.
