Beverly Allen’s background is graphic design and illustration and a botanical painter since 1998. She exhibits annually at Sydney’s Botanica exhibition and in the USA, the Netherlands, Japan, Italy and England.
Her paintings are held in The Florilegium: Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, the Shirley Sherwood Collection, The Highgrove Florilegium for the Prince of Wales’ Charitable Trust, The Transylvania Florilegium for the Prince of Wales’s Foundation Romania, the Lindley Library, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Library and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.
Beverly holds Gold Medals from the Royal Horticultural Society London and the New York Botanic Garden and was awarded the American Society of Botanical Artists 2016 Diane Bouchier Award for Excellence in Botanical Art.
She has taught masterclasses internationally and at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney since 2004, where she co-founded and is president of the Florilegium Society and is an honorary member of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium, the Botanical Art Society of Australia and a patron of the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium.
