After a long career as a medical professional, my botanical art journey began in 2018 when I attended a workshop at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, Kaua’i, Hawaii, hosted by American coloured pencil artist, Wendy Hollender. The experience offered me a new way to explore my lifelong love of pattern, colour and plants. During the social isolation of the pandemic it heightened my connection to the immediate world around me. I have continued drawing in coloured pencil, and have exhibited my work with the Botanical Art Society of Australia, the Botanical Artist’s Society of Queensland, and the Queensland Wildlife Artists Society.
