Beverly worked as a graphic designer and illustrator and since 1998 as a botanical artist exhibiting at the annual ‘Botanica’ exhibitions at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, in the ‘Art of Botanical Illustration’ in Melbourne several times and in the USA, the Netherlands, Japan, Italy and in London. Beverly works in watercolour both on paper and also on traditional calfskin vellum. Her paintings are held in the Florilegium Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, the Shirley Sherwood Collection, The Highgrove Florilegium for the Prince of Wales’ Charitable Trust, The Transylvania Florilegium for the Prince of Wales’s Foundation Romania, the Lindley Library, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Library and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation. She holds Gold Medals from the Royal Horticultural Society London and the New York Botanic Garden and in 2016 was awarded the Diane Bouchier Award for Excellence in Botanical Art by the American Society of Botanical Artists. Beverly co-founded the Florilegium Society at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney in 2005 and was president until 2021. She is an honorary member of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society and the Botanical Art Society of Australia and a patron of the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society. |
