The play between aesthetic intuition and critical description is the dialogue that stimulates her practice. It is important that the subject is realistically rendered and conveys the grace and lyricism inherent in the plant’s natural habit. To convey the natural harmony of colour in a plant which flows through and further emphasises that sense of line and movement is also important. The smallest details, finely painted, are further impetus for this engagement; indulging her curiosity and pleasure and encouraging an involvement with the plant and respect for its value in the natural world.
